ABOUT US
Imaginalium is a focused strategic firm for early-stage biotech ventures
Our Story
Biotech rarely fails on science alone. It fails systemically, at the seams—where incentives misalign, pressures mount, and complexity overwhelms structure. Early decisions around IP, positioning, and capital determine whether value compounds or dissipates.
We are scientists and operators who’ve worked across the lab, the boardroom, and the deal table. We’ve seen how strong science falters when strategy is retrofitted, capital is pursued too hastily, and narrative is treated as decoration rather than lifeline.
We help you clarify value, communicate it precisely, and align your strategy so decisions compound advantage instead of risk.
Our Philosophy
We believe biotech needs adaptive, behaviorally informed systems that weather time, pressure, and complexity.
We focus on foundational interventions that scale, helping you create lasting impact through shifting markets and science.
Meet Our Team

Solmaz Sobhanifar, PhD, PMP
Scientific Storytelling & Investor Strategy | Co-Founder
I translate deep science into decision-ready narratives for markets and investors. As a Banting Scholar with a PhD in biophysical chemistry and postdoctoral training at UBC, I combine technical rigor with marketing and communications, including direct contribution to AbCellera’s IPO—Canada’s largest biotech offering to date. I apply behavioral psychology and systems insights to create clear positioning that unlocks opportunity.

Ying Yu, EMBA, CLP
Intellectual Property & Commercial Strategy | Advisor
I help biotech companies structure IP and commercial strategy so they can grow, partner, or transact from a position of strength. With 20+ years across academic tech transfer, startups, global pharma, and CDMOs—including SFU, STEMCELL Technologies, Roche, and Cytiva / Danaher—I’ve led multi-million dollar deals and focus on protecting value, preserving optionality, and preparing companies for critical deal moments.

Ernest McEachern, PhD
Clinical and Commercial strategy | Advisor
I drive scientific and strategic execution towards clinical and commercial outcomes. As Co-Founder and CEO of Alectos, I’ve secured partnerships with Merck and Biogen, and previously led the identification and development of mavorixafor at AnorMED. With a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry and postdoctoral training at Stanford, I bring 25+ years across drug development spanning discovery, IP strategy, partnering, and company-building with 80+ publications and patents. I focus on advancing assets and navigating key inflection points.
